BALL CITY TRYOUTS 2025

Season 2025 loading up! We’re excited to welcome back former Ball City players and meet new hoopers for our Ball City Tryouts. Ball City has been growing and getting stronger over the last 3 years, and we’re ready to go to the next level. So we’re looking to bring together the best players to make this another dynamic year for the program and players.

For the last 3 years Ball City created its own travel circuit–including stops in Chicago, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kansas City, and back-to-back appearances at the AAU World Championships in Orlando, Florida, with the goal of joining one of the national circuits. Starting with two teams with two teams our first year, then growing to three teams, then 4 teams in 2024, and adding an additional two teams in the Fall, Ball City has grown rapidly and become one of the rising youth basketball programs in Minnesota. This year, we’ve been invited to join two national circuits–at the middle school and high school level. Both of these are recognized and respected circuits that feature high-level, competitive teams. We look forward to rising to the challenge, providing opportunities for players and showcasing their talents. There’s more information about the circuits below.

Over the last 3 years, Ball City has worked to create their own national circuit–playing in tournaments regionally in Minnesota, along with travels to Wisconsin Dells, Iowa, Chicago, Kansas City and the AAU World Championships in Orlando, Florida for two year in a row–at which we were the only Minnesota team the first year, and one of two MN teams the second year. This year, we’ve been invited to join two national circuits–the RecruitLook Hoops circuit and the UA Futures (Under Armour) circuit. We’re excited to join these recognized circuits and are looking for players that want to and ready to make an impact on college coaches and recruiters.

The foundation of our program is discipline and development with high standards and expectations–and preparing players to perform at an Elite level, in order to prepare them for Varsity basketball and beyond. We also believe that the discipline of sports and basketball, not only prepares you to be the best athlete you can be, but also can serve as a blueprint for success. Our mission is to support the development of young basketball players in their basketball journey, and elevate the basketball community in Minnesota, and our community in general through the leadership and skills that sports teach. Minnesota basketball is on the rise, along with youth basketball in general, and we believe our youth can help lead that charge. There is talent in Minnesota and we want to help cultivate it.

Ball City is a program with high standards and high expectations, and discipline and hard work are foundations of the program. So we are looking for serious hoopers that are hungry and ready to work, that want to become the best player they can be. In addition to the two circuit teams, we will also have additional teams for players that are not able to travel on the circuit. The standards and expectations for these teams will be the same as it is for the circuit teams. As we say, we don’t change the standards to fit the players, the players change to fit the standards. If you think you have what it takes to become the best you can be, we look forward to seeing you at tryouts.

We will have 7th + 8th grade tryouts at 1-2pm.

And the high school tryouts (14-17 yrs old) at 2:30-4pm.
